THE COMBINED ARMED FORCES COMBATIVES COMMISSION
The Combined Armed Forces Combative Commission was created to allow for military personnel from all of the branches of the armed forces to compete in competitions under standardized rules. These competitions may be on military installations or off. The CAFCC is designed to oversee only those events involving military personnel. When not on federal property the CAFCC works to coordinate its efforts with the applicable state regulating bodies. The CAFCC is working with several state athletic commissions to achieve recognition for only those events featuring military combatants and using Modern Army Combatives Level 4 rules. It should be noted that the CAFCC differs from other sanctioning bodies in the following ways:
1) It only regulates events involving military personnel or veterans,
2) The events it regulates must represent the values and standards of the United States Armed Forces,
3) Those events must benefit a military combatives program or veterans group,
4) The CAFCC competition rules follow the Level 4 competition rules of the Modern Army Combatives Program and match those rules for similar competition in the Marine Corp Martial Arts Program (These rules do differ from the rules of other recognized sanctioning bodies in their restrictions on several techniques),
5) and the commission members and officials receive no remuneration beyond their expenses.
It should be noted that the commission is actively working to encourage the introduction of military personnel suffering Post Tramatic Stress Disorder into MMA or martial arts training programs nationwide. Recent studies indicate that those suffering PTSD benefit greatly from the relief provided by such programs.
Currently the Commission consists of the following personnel:
