SEAL TEAM 6 COMMANDER IN THE MMA FIGHT GAME FOR A CAUSE

Rogue Warrior event coming to Laughlin

Former Seal Team Six Commander Dick Marcinko will be on hand with his Rogue Angels

Former Seat Team Six founder and former commander Dick Marcinko is bring his brand of cagefighting to the Edgewater Casino’s E Center in Laughlin for Saturday November 10th.

Marcinko was the man the US Navy turned to when they needed to create their first counter terrorism command. The highly decorated Marcinko – Silver Star, four Bonze Stars with a Combat V, two Navy Commendation Medals – was already the primary action officer for the maintenance of special warfare/unconventional warfare plans worldwide, the Navy representative to assist in the establishment of Rapid Deployment Force (RDF), and handled the daily intelligence for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Plans and Policy. Marcinko saw the need for an elite and highly trained counterterrorism unit and was eventually tasked with creating and commanding SEAL Team SIX, the Navy’s first and only counter-terrorist command. SEAL Team SIX engaged in highly classified missions from Central America to the Middle East, the North Sea to Africa and beyond, and established itself as the world’s foremost counter-terrorism unit.

Marcinko later was founder of a second counter-terrorism unit, Red Cell. Commanding Red Cell, Marcinko was directed to use his team to test the Navy’s anti-terrorist capabilities. As a result he was able to infiltrate seemingly impenetrable, highly-secured bases, nuclear submarines, ships and other purported “secure areas”, including the U.S. Presidential plane Air Force One. He became the known as the “Rogue Warrior.”

Now between writing the Rogue Warrior series of books – he has published nineteen – speaking engagements and appearances, the Rogue Warrior finds himself enjoying the battle strategy inside a 30 foot steel cage. Marcinko admittedly is the type of fighter who enjoys taking a knife to a fist fight and a gun to a knife fight – “I don’t like to lose” is his comment – he does enjoy the action of good MMA fights especially for a cause. His Rogue Warrior Championships are now taking place around the country in support of the Stars and Stripes Foundation. “I support the Stars and Stripes Foundation because they are an all volunteer(truely non-profit) charity that helps our vets and our wounded” says Marcinko. “The charity works hard to help the wounded get back on their feet and supports their families. Many of these warriors have a long road to recovery and they need our ongoing support”

One of the unique aspects of the Rogue Warrior Cagefighting events is that they feature active duty military and veterans representing their respective branches of military service fighting for the wounded. Wounded warriors are in attendance at every event to enjoy the action and to meet the MMA celebrities that attend these events in support of them.

The upcoming Rogue Warrior Championships at the E-Center in Laughlin on Saturday November 10 will be part of Laughlin’s Veterans Festival that weekend.  The event will feature military fighters from all over the country including US Army from Fort Bliss in El Paso, Air Force from Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, Coast Guard from Wisconsin and US Marines from Camp Pendleton.   It all starts at 6PM at the E Center. Tickets for this unique patriotic fighting event are on sale now at http://edgewater-casino.tix.com and start at just $15.  For more information on the Rogue Warrior Championships go to fighting.com
